T’arts Burlesque life drawing
Pre-Raphaelite Week
Join us for an evening of life-drawing with models from The Flauntettes burlesque group and friends. This month we will be getting all romantic with the Pre-Raphaelite movement. Models poses, costumes and props will all be inspired by the likes of Rossetti, Millais, Waterhouse and all their wafty friends.
We start the session with a speed lecture on the styles and greatest hits of the movement. So if you don’t know your Ophelia from your Belle Dame yet, don’t fear! Then half an hour of quick poses, half an hour of 10 min poses and finally one long pose where you can get your paintbrushes out. We have nice long breaks between times to grab a drink and socialise with your fellow artists and view each others work.
We have materials you are welcome to use, please bring something you can lean on like a sketchbook or board.
Beginners are very welcome, Marco, Tamsyn, Joe and Faye are there to offer tips on getting started.
NB This is an adults only event 18+. We take the safe-guarding of our models very seriously and anyone behaving in a not-cool manner will be asked to leave. We will give you a quick run-down on life-drawing etiquette before we start. No photos, no touching, we are here to draw and are very very blessed to have some lovely people who are willing to show us their beautiful bods!
It’s a free event (£1 entry if you are not a member), the models and event organisers are all volunteers, but please consider making a donation towards materials if you can afford to do so. Suggested donation £3.
